ARBITRATION
AND MEDIATION PRACTICE
Carlos Bianchi has participated as counsel
and arbitrator in numerous substantial commercial arbitrations, including as chairman
of the panel and sole arbitrator. Most of these arbitrations have been administered
by the American Arbitration Association or the ICC International Court of Arbitration,
although some have been ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules. These arbitrations
have involved diverse subject matter and legal issues, including: joint ventures;
antitrust; aviation; European Community law; intellectual property; stockholders'
agreements; reinsurance; telecommunications; and export laws.
Mr. Bianchi
has participated in several arbitrator training programs of the American Arbitration
Association (Arbitrator II advanced training, April 2001; International Arbitrator
training, October 1999; Commercial Arbitrator Workshop, October 1998).
He
is a member of the Panel of Mediators of the Commercial División of the State
of New York. He has participated in the following mediation training programs:
intensive mediation training program, Center for Mediation in Law, April 2002;
Advanced Mediation training programs, Association of the Bar of the City of New
York, February 2003 and July 2002.
He is a member of the London Court
of International Arbitration and is on the Advisory Board of the Institute for
Transnational Arbitration.
